I have no words for this image ...
There is no nice or gentle way to present this photo.
There is no easy way for those of us who have so much,
to deal with this type of reality.
It is not something in our day to day experience,
but it's time to wake up,
our world is not changing ... it has changed.
This is a 3 year old child, Aylan Kurdi, dead on a beach, as a result of an immoral war being waged for power, greed and reasons that none of us truly understand. His brother and mother are also dead, and his father is faced with the agony of living on.
Whoever the powers that be, are, they feed and grow rich on these agonies.
The ruthless amongst us take advantage of their helplessness.
They build economic empires on paper, and for some reason
we seem to allow this to be.
More fools us.
This photo of Aylan, has the power of the girl burned by Napalm in Vietnam.
It changed the way we think of our world, and what is right.
This photo was possibly a major turning point in how we viewed the Vietnam War.
We stopped thinking of it as our propaganda machines were indoctrinating us to think.
Our hearts took over from our heads,
which like computers are easily programmed.
It's time to start thinking again with our hearts, thinking of all the children like Aylan Kurdi, fleeing their countries with their families to find a better life.
Germany, led by Angela Merkel, has shown the right way to respond to this overwhelming crisis.
We need to sort out a way for all countries who are able to assist in sharing the load, to make it possible for these refugees to find a new and safe home.
They have walked through their fears.
Only extreme agony, disaster and disruption causes people to flee in such numbers.
It is time for our world to wake up. To welcome these people and relieve their suffering, to love and care for our fellow human beings.
Until we walk through our fear of being taken over, our fear of anything unknown,
our world will not change.
Until we walk through these fears,
we shall be manipulated and controlled by those who want only power and control, no matter what the cost.
Our world does not have to be this way.
It's time to wake up, and take our power back, and care for our own people ...
whoever they are, wherever they live ... or are fleeing from ...
whatever the colour of their skin,
or their beliefs.
It's time to save our world.
Not just the people,
but also
the environment.
wake up!
We are all one.
